Valeria Iglesias is a bilingual (English/Spanish) Digital Media Writer, Editor and Project Consultant with an interest in Culture, Literature and Lifestyle.
She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English Studies and a Master’s Degree in Western Literature. She has participated in academic seminars and conferences, and she co-founded the first graduate student conference in literature at the KU Leuven Arts Faculty: Borders in/of Literature (May 2020). She also contributed to The Palgrave Handbook of Contemporary Gothic (edited by Clive Bloom), published by Palgrave Macmillan in 2020.
While she was completing her studies, she started working as an English Tutor, which led her to undertake roles as Extracurricular Teacher, Private Tutor or Summer Camp Instructor, among others. She worked with students of all ages in different environments and gained valuable experience in communicating with diverse audiences and handling their specific needs successfully.
After she graduated from her Master’s, she took on her first corporate role as a Pedagogy & Contents Consultant at a Spanish tech company specializing in e-learning solutions for businesses.
In this role, her main responsibilities were to proofread, edit, and write multimedia scripts and contents for learning modules and audiovisual storytelling. She also managed client communication with public and private companies, helping secure repeat collaborations and driving end-to-end content delivery. In her everyday, she collaborated with graphic designers, curating stock footage, music and style in coordination with them to align visual elements with brand tone and educational objectives. Together with this, she mentored junior editors, supporting onboarding and adherence to the company’s best practices to ensure a smooth integration within the team.
In her spare time, Valeria is interested in arts and crafts, pastry-making, event organizing, contemporary literature and film. She enjoys writing literary reviews and she is also keen on being attuned with social media trends and events happening in the city. She has some personal projects surrounding her passion for community-based initiatives, sharing food and providing a third place for gathering and exchanging thoughts.
